I made a blog! The truth is, I'd been planning to do so for quite a while now. Since I'm nearing the
public release of my journal project, I finally got enough motivation to actually make one. I find
this project very special, and I wanted to write a proper, long-form post for it. But for that, I
needed a blog. Hello, world!

I'm not great at putting out _stuff_ on a consistent schedule. Perhaps it's because of my general
lack of motivation, or maybe due to my perfectionism. Whatever the case, don't be surprised if I go
half a year between posts. I'll try to write about whatever I find interesting, but no promises. It
will be in part technical, and in part emotional. But it should always be tech-adjacent.

I might write about my ideas, scrapped projects, finished projects, or whatever else! I'm not a huge
fan of posting on large, public platforms. I don't post on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/SimonDMC),
or comment on videos I watch. But I like having my own little corner of the internet carved out; my
own place where I can speak my mind, and maybe someone will find it interesting. There's no RSS
yet, but I'll probably add it at some point. I don't even really know what it's for.

If you're wondering, I made this blog with [Eleventy](https://11ty.dev). It's quite shoehorned into
this otherwise pure HTML/CSS/JS site, which doesn't even have a build step. I found it a good fit
for what I'm trying to do. I get to write the post in [markdown](/blog/raw/posts/hello-world.md)
and have it turn into this presentable page. Sweet!

Thanks for reading and caring about what I have to say. The blog page looks quite sad and empty
right now, but the post about Journal — along with the project itself — should be out later this week.
